The anticipation surrounding the release of Death Stranding 2 continues to build, as fans eagerly await updates from its creator. While a release date has indeed been set for the much-anticipated sequel, Hideo Kojima has chosen not to disclose it at this moment due to unforeseen events affecting the timing of the announcement.

Hideo Kojima shared that Death Stranding 2: On The Beach is scheduled for an official launch in 2025. At a recent presentation centered around the sequel, the influential director acknowledged that the release date is confirmed; however, he found himself hindered from sharing that information during the event due to unforeseen circumstances.

He indicated that while he refrained from revealing the date at this time, the planning is in progress. Kojima remarked on the timelines involved, specifically noting that since the release is linked to 2025, an announcement is likely to be made the following year. However, difficulties have made it impossible to disclose more details at present.

The game was first introduced to audiences during The Game Awards 2022 and is confirmed for the PS5 platform. With the PS5 Pro launch approaching, there are expectations that the title may also be compatible with this mid-generation console, even though there has been no formal affirmation from Kojima Productions yet.

This action game will continue the story from the critically acclaimed original released in 2019, which has carved out its niche as one of the finest games for the PS4. Players can look forward to following familiar characters, Sam and Fragile, while also being introduced to a fresh ensemble of Hollywood talents.

Following the release of Death Stranding: Director's Cut in 2021 and its subsequent PC version the following year, there is speculation that On The Beach might be a temporary exclusive for PlayStation, possibly making its way to PC at some future date.
